About the Company: Founded in 2012 to inject energy and dynamism into the landscape of British Craftsmanship, The New Craftsmen apply a personal approach to commissioning, curating and selling British craft from their showroom in London’s Mayfair. A regular exhibition roster accompanied by an engaging educational programme brings to the forefront the talent and skills that The New Craftsmen represents.
About the Project: For London Design Festival 2017, The New Craftsmen collaborated with designer Sue Skeen to launch a furniture collection inspired by the Blue Mountain School, To accompany the launch Penelope devised a series of educational events that delved into the historical Blue Mountain and brought its principles to life in The New Craftsmen showroom. The juxtaposition of the archetypal designs and materials that inspired Sue Skeen with the contemporary pieces gave the audience a deeper appreciation and understanding of the collection.
