About the Company: Irish embroiderer Geraldine Larkin founded her eponymous company in 1991 specialising in haute couture embroidery. Geraldine’s clients include McQueen, LV, Prada and Marni to name just a few. In the early 2000s Geraldine spotted a niche in the market where interiors and fashion collide. Using the same haute couture applications Geraldine launched her consultancy for interiors. Her hand embroidered luxury pieces are highly sought after.
About the Project: Since the inception of her company, Geraldine Larkin has accumulated more than 5000 embroidery samples that document her work and contribution to the fashion and interiors’ industries. The project saw the creation of an embroidery archive that doubled up as a reference library. Penelope documented, catalogued, and referenced embroidery samples and wrote the history to accompany each piece. Interpretations included design inspiration, craftsmanship skills, materials used, and organised in such a way to facilitate future visits by fashion and interiors experts.
